Well after being away for a very long time it is good to see that some old places don't change. The service is good if a bit robotic. The room is classic red checkered tables and chianti bottles hanging around. We tried the meatballs, risotto balls (nice Yelp check in bonus), chopped Italian salad & mushroom/pepperoni pizza. Aside from the pizza being a bit thick/doughy and being charged $2.50 for seltzer water, we were pleased but not wowed by the food. The prices are reasonable. The soundtrack playing was perfectly Rat Packish but the 2 TV screens playing sports distracted from the vibe. Ciao!

Been walking past Antonio's for years and finally decided to stop in for dinner last night with one of my best friends. I couldn't have been happier to see tortellini on the menu! As a New Yorker, it's so hard to find out here in LA, but man it was killer! Great atmosphere, nice and quiet, but service was kinda spotty. Looking forward to next time!

This place is amazing! Best pizza in town!!!! The crust is delicious. The salad dressings are full of flavor!!! Service is so friendly!

I love the attention to detail in their antipasto. The marinara sauce is also intensely flavorful and hearty. Didn't try anything else, but I'll be back I'm sure.

This evening we opted for Italian first time here this location the service was very friendly very family orientated. We had pepperoni and sausage pizza with spaghetti with a side of meatballs everything was a very good if we were out in the area and we will probably eat there without a problem we also had an antipasto salad that was chopped fine and had a great vinaigrette dressing on it very good. I'm slightly biased as my mother in law made me here meatballs every birthday. No one tops hers

Great Pizza! Great service! Since moving to the neighborhood, I needed to find a go to pizza establishment and Antonio's is it! Not only is the pizza amazing, the staff is friendly, and the beer selection is on point. Won't get pies from anywhere else in Sherman Oaks A

Note: I rarely give bad reviews... In fact this is my first time leaving a negative review like this. Decided to give this place a try - I'm confused about all the amazing reviews about this place. Maybe we just lucked out and ordered on a bad day? The bread was delicious, but other than that... We had the food delivered. The lasagna seemed a bit "off" but my guy ate some of it anyway... Not sure if it had gone bad or was an off day for this restaurant, but he is currently sick in the restroom. I ordered the half spaghetti/half ravioli. I wasn't too impressed - felt like eating something that I heated up from a frozen dinner.

Just came home with my pizza and maybe it's an off day, but I don't get all the 5 star reviews. The woman who took my order over the phone was not helpful and promised risotto balls (which I didn't get). The pizza was ok however, they managed to leave off my topping and it was incredibly dry. I recommend asking for extra sauce. Maybe the Italian dishes are great, but I will never come back for the pizza (Nor will I recommend it to anyone I know).

Yummm, had the Garlic Fried Gnocchi and one HUGE meatball. I think their entree portions should be shared but oh well... get big America!

So I don't like to give bad reviews but this place wasn't so great. I felt like I had had better frozen pizza from Trader Joe's.

Shared a large pepperoni and sausage pie with my guys, it was fresh, warm and tasty! Service was quick and friendly. The décor of the place is fun! I know we've been here many moons ago for a school fundraiser and the place was crazy busy, on a calm evening it was enjoyable. We walked over so dealing with parking is not something we faced. My recommendation is, if you live within a 2 or so mile radius walking anywhere is your number one option, why drive and worry about paying meters, valet or searching for a spot. Most every residential street in this area is permit parking only so take a stroll to burn off some of the carbs you'll consume here. We look forward to returning and checking out a couple other menu items, but sticking to just the pie was a great idea and didn't disappoint. It's also fun when restaurants have yelp specials - check in and you'll get a free order of risotto balls. These were ok, dipping my pizza crust in the leftover marinara was better!

Love love love this place! The atmosphere, the staff, the FOOD! Amazing. Great local place to support. It's my favorite place to bring family when in town.

I'm from the West Valley where pizza is how shall I say, notta so good. The decent places near me will not deliver because I'm out of their delivery zone by a 1/8 of mile or so. Shit! I'm stuck in the "No Delivery Pizza Zone". I will travel for good pizza, I have no choice. You Sherman Oaks folks got it good. Jealous am I. Antonio's is a great old school Italian restaurant with tons of charm. Try and find parking in the back. Otherwise it can be a challenge. I had to go around the block twice but luckily one of the spaces in back opened up. I don't think they do this but it would very cool if they could come out to the car for take out orders like Lido Pizza. Hard not pulling over on the way home to open that box and take a big bite of that pizza. It smelled great. Any hassle with parking was soon forgotten when I did finally try it. Wow, this was good pizza! Loved the Italian sausage they use. Real sausage, not those rabbit pellets you see at some other places. I also ordered a small Antipasto Salad which was very good. This place is doing it right. Got to come back and sit down for dinner with the family soon. Mangia Bene! (Eat Well)

I checked in and got a free side of risotto balls. They were super delicious but not my cup of tea. I came for the pizza! Boy howdy! Their pizza is amazing! Bottom of the crust is fully cooked and even crisp which is how I like it. The pepperoni is god but the sausage is fantastic. The top of the dough is soft and yummy while the crust has some wonderful bite and texture. As a first timer I think it's safe to say I found my go to pizza place in S.O.

The lady that took our carry out was soooo nice!!! We are vegetarians and gluten free and she helped us out a lot. They have a gluten free menu and vegan cheese. The toppings were really fresh and tasty. And the gluten free crust was SOOOOO delicious!!! And the gluten free RISOTTO BALLS were sooooo wonderful also!!! Very satisfied and will be coming back!!

The lasagne was delicious. I was in the mood for something ungodly cheesy and our waiter hooked it up. My cheese craving is squashed. Love the wine of the month and if the sweet isn't your favorite they have very good cheaper wines. We recommend and will be back. Thank you Antonio's!!

Had the Pasta Rossa, Risotto Balls and the margherita (or was it cheese?) pizza. Long story short, i really liked it! Not giving it 5 stars because it did not have that "epic" impression as soon as you take a bite. But it was good nonetheless. And i would totally come back when i am in the area. Atmosphere is nice, looks good and clean. Servings are generous. Staff is nice. My italian friend from Italy liked it. So yeah. Nice work guys.

A gluten-free lovers heaven!! They have a separate menu completely dedicated to gluten-free items. My husband and I have tried gluten-free pizza at quite a few places and this is by far the best we have had. Even my husband who prefers regular crust loved it and said he would order it again. We got 1/2 meat lovers for him and the other 1/2 spinach, mushroom, kalamata olives and jalapeños for me. The jalapeños made it a little too hot so next time I will not add them. We started with their house bread rolls and the house salad. The rolls were fluffy and hot right out of the oven. They were so fresh I had to have one even though I try to avoid gluten. It was well worth it! The salad had chopped romaine lettuce, kidney and garbanzo beans and olives with a delicious Italian dressing. The salad was medium in size, big enough for us to split. In addition to the pizza, we shared the spicy seafood pasta with a clam red sauce and four big shrimp over zucchini noodles. This is the only place I have ever seen offer zucchini noodles as an alternative to regular wheat noodles!! This was very exciting to find. If you're not into zucchini noodles, the alternative gluten-free pasta is rice noodle. The sauce was full of flavor and tasty spices. On top of the food being fantastic, the staff was very friendly, professional and attentive. Both ladies took pride in their jobs and providing excellent service. While we were there, one man fell asleep at his table - he had obviously had too much too drink. The ladies handled him with grace. They confronted him and asked him kindly yet confidently to pay and leave since this was not an establishment where he could sleep. We were impressed with both ladies as they maintained a smile and upbeat persona while continuing to serve us and all the other patrons. We will definitely be back.

The service was good but the pizza was average. I ordered a medium meat lover pizza and a pint of beer and my total was $30. All in all I was not impressed with the food. The pizza tasted weird...

I hate giving low reviews- But I stopped in while out looking for a place that offers homemade pasta. I was really disappointed in the quality of what I had. I'm surprised by some of the reviews-- I just didn't get that ! This was my first time and I feel it's only fair to give any place a second chance- after all it could of been me and an off day! ( But I don't think so!)

First time at Antonio's while making a beauty stop in Studio City. We ordered the Risotto balls, a costumized Large Pizza Bianca and vine to let it all down. The Risotto balls were very good so was the Pizza. Our waitress Alondra was very attentive and the place although a bit dated was cozy and warm. We will return!

Ever since Alex became more involved with the management of Antonio's, it has taken on a whole new & exciting vibe. Newer decor, additional menu selections, expanded wine list, occasional live music & super attentive & friendly service. With owners Alex as "captain" and Steve as "co-pilot", Antonio's will be around for another 50+ years! Good job Alex and Steve!

Not sure why the sign outside states Best Pizza.? It is tasteless cardboard..also their pasta sauce is terrible.

Came here on Friday, 2/27 for dinner. Very cute place and they had a live band who were pretty good. So start things off, my wife and I tried the fresh brushetta. Very fresh. Then we shared the Large pizza (half cheese and half mushroom). So delicious! We were impressed at how good the pizza is as we are pizza snobs, ha. Will come here again to try other stuff. My wife smelled the spaghetti and meatballs from the other table and she said they smelled so good. Overall: B+

I have been going to this restaurant since I was a kid! There is not one bad thing on this menu. Staff is always friendly and the food comes out delicious and quick. They have the best rolls and their meatballs are amazing. If you haven't been here, you're truly missing out on some good Italian food.

UPDATE: Really just need to let everyone know how awesome this place is. Not sure if the woman who is always there is the owner or not, but she is GREAT! They never get our order wrong, the pizza isn't greasy (makes you feel way less guilty about eating it), and they are quick with to go orders but the quality isn't compromised. I'll be holding a charity event soon and I'm thinking this might be just the perfect place to get the pizza for it from. Thank you Antonio's for holding up your standards, all the time...everytime!

Food was OK. The Chicken Marsala didn't taste like it had any wine on it. The strawberry basil lemonade was nice. Dinner rolls bland. Our server, Jose, was the best thing about the meal. He was attentive and on top of it. Really nice guy.

I had a hankering for great Italian food last night, so I bundled up the wife and son and we headed over to Antonio's, which has been one of our "go to" places as it is in our neighborhood, it is always good and very reasonably priced.... Last night was NO EXCEPTION. I got adventurous and tried the pasta Bandiera, but instead of the Alfredo sauce, I asked for meat sauce... it was extremely flavorful tortellini, plus chicken, plus the awesome sauce... together with a bottle of Stella, I was a happy guy... Wife had an antipasto salad, which she loved, plus a few slices of the pizza that we ordered for she and my son, who is a "pizza purist" and just loves the cheese pizza... The wait staff is always wonderful and I like to recognize good service... Alex is always nice and we appreciate when she keeps an eye on everything and "works the room," talking to tables of customers. I always appreciate the feeling of being in a comfortable Italian home, among people who make you feel warm, welcome and appreciated! None of us left feeling hungry! Quite the contrary, in fact... :)

If you're looking for an Italian place that'll treat you like family and has fantastic food, Antonio's is the place for you! The salads are great, the pizza and pastas are perfect and the meatballs are superb! Antonio's is so good I ate there twice in the same week! Alex the owner is adorable and you can usually identify her by her great laugh as she goes around the restaurant making sure everyone is enjoying themselves and enjoying the food. Seriously if you're sick of eating at the same old typical Italian joints and are looking for a change, you can do no wrong trying out Antonio's! Great food, great atmosphere!

Apparently this wasn't a one time issue. My friends and I came in to the restaurant a couple weeks ago and parked in back. As we were walking in we saw one of the owners talking to a staff member. It seemed like a heated conversation but they were speaking in Spanish so I kept walking. My friend who does speak Spanish walked in later and told us that the staff member was yelling and saying she didn't appreciate being accused of stealing. I won't be coming back here considering the owners don't seem to respect any of their staff and continue to make scenes in front of diners. I can find good pizza elsewhere.

I placed in order over the phone and the lady was so helpful, and awesome! She was so kind. I had my order delivered. The delivery guy was nice and friendly, as well. My food came within 40 min, not too bad. It was a lot of food, I ordered way too much, because I was HUNGRY! The Fettucine Primavera is freaking delicious!!!!!!! I am way too full now, but happy! Thank you!!!

My company used Antonio's for a super large catering order and we could not be happier! Alex was very responsive and very good about working with our budget and specific dietary needs. Antonio's made sure we had everything we needed and we would have enough food for our attendees. The delivery was on time and the food was delicious! What more could we ask for? Thanks so much!

Hmm, where do I start? I had visited this restaurant with a friend of mine last week. When we walked in I noticed there was literally nobody else dining at this restaurant, which put me off a bit. Regardless we sat down and the owner of the restaurant (From what we could tell) was waiting on us. We ordered their risotto balls as a starter, they were decent, but my friend did not enjoy them very much. We also ordered a caesar salad to share, and it tasted like the dressing was watered down heavily. We moved on to ordering a large pizza to split between the both of us. We decided on the Davide's Rossa Pizza. I believe from this point on our experience at this restaurant became disheartening. A young lady took over as our waitress, and she literally made both of us incredibly uncomfortable. She had a very dreary attitude and made the evening very, VERY awkward. I had a feeling she was not very prepared to do her job, she might have been a new waitress. When she brought us our pizza she decided to hand both of us a slice from the whole pie (I guess thats what the waiters are told to do?). As she was cutting out the pieces from the pizza she dropped a bunch of the toppings on the floor. I didn't find it necessary to touch our pizza that was already cut and ready to be handled by the customer, especially if you aren't capable of doing it without dropping half of the pizza ingredients on the floor. As far as taste, it was bland, but it was a cooked pizza and I was hungry. My friend thought it had an intense amount of cheese in comparison with all the other topping, so much so that she had to take out more than 60% of what was baked onto the pizza. The most Annoying thing about eating at this restaurant was the fact that both the waitress AND the owner were giving us several stares throughout our meal as if we were blind and couldn't notice? How insanely uncomfortable it was to eat there. I noticed they were whispering to each other as well, god only knows what they were talking about. I would never eat here again, and I will persuade my friends and family the same, I wouldn't want them to experience what we experienced.

Sold after the first bite. Had the Pesto/David Rossa pizza. Also had a Caesar salad. Actually, most everything here is excellent. My son loves the bbq chicken pizza. The lasagne is in some of the best tomato sauce I've ever tasted, Chicken Panini with pesto, etc. etc.

  • Elaine O.

We love this place. It is authentic Italian. The sauce for the lasagna is to die for. I like that the pasta is all fresh. Sure it isn't one of those chic over Italian LA type restaurants ... It's one of those hole in the wall family joints. Pizza is great too.

We were highly disappointed with the quality of food given to us. The only reason we are giving it 3 stars is for the customer service we received. The first time we ordered delivery from Antonio's we got the gluten free pizza and calamari appetizer. The pizza came with the wrong toppings, the cheese was greasy, and yet the crust was undercooked. We live about 2 blocks away and delivery took 40 minutes to bring us the food. When we called back to talk to the manager, she issued us a credit for next time. We were reluctant to order again because after all of that ordeal, the food made is sick. But we wanted to give it another try. This time we ordered the Caesar salad with shrimp and a cup of minestrone. The manager was very apologetic when we went to pick up our order and gave us the order complimentary/free of charge. This was very nice and is definitely the only thing this place has going for them. The shrimp was rubbery and there were only 4 pieces... At an additional $5 to add the shrimp, we were hoping for at least a couple more pieces. After this trip, we still got upset stomachs. Sorry Antonio's, we will not be giving you a third try.

I have been coming here since i was playing little league baseball in the early 1990's. I have always felt welcomed, and always left full and satisfied! This place is a part of my life and my family, and the food is outstanding! I HIGHLY recommend this to anyone who wants an excellent italian food, with amazing hospitality. I'm a lifer here!

Really good pizza. We drive by here a lot but since we usually are low carbing it, pizza is never a choice for us. Being the holidays and all we decided to get our pizza fill before making the jump into 2013. We walked in and were greeted right away, asked to order a pizza to go. Picked out a three topping house pizza (i think that is what it was called) and sat down to wait. Not much later we were handed our pizza, and rushed home to pop in a movie and start grubbing. This pizza was goooooooood. Loaded with mushrooms, pepperoni, and meatball crumbles, tons of cheese and just the right amount of sauce. The crust was hand tossed and baked to perfection. Even though we ordered it to go there was absolutely zero sogginess to the crust. I was impressed. We polished off a large pizza between the two of us, and we were quite full afterwards. We could have gotten away with ordering a medium for sure.

Ordered several meals and a pizza to go: staff was fast and friendly- Food was hot, delicious and they were careful to add/subtract ingredients as requested by each person. Everyone loved what they ordered- Cant beat, fast, delicious food at a reasonable price! I will definitely be back

Antonio's is simple and reliable. The red sauce is just delicious and the service is impeccable. The pizza is flavorful, yo - just what you want when you're eating. Pizza. Think red-and-white checkered table cloths, and "please don't let that straw-covered chianti bottle fall on my head." Problems: don't get the cheesy garlic bread. I think it's Costco thin-sliced mozz covering a loaf of bread - not garlicky, not fresh enough for an Afro. While the house salad has beets, garbanzos, kidney beans, and zucchini, the Italian oil and vinegar is a bit vinegary and it's all spread over plain iceberg. Why some entrees come with soup or salad costing the same price as other entrees that do not come with said accoutrements, is a mystery to me. Nonetheless, when you want manicotti or stuffed shells, Antonio's is it. We go back all the time and I think we always will.

I want to feel bad for leaving a negative review because the hostess was so nice but this dining experience was just terrible. The waiter forgot to take our order 10 mins after sitting, gave us an attitude when serving the food and dropped the tray with all the plate on our table almost dropping the candle. I can tell the restaurant would be nice with a good waiter but I was so disappointed that I had to leave a review. I would possibly go here in the future but would never be my first choice.

Im writing this review with all my fellow New Yorkers in mind. This is the best pizza you are going to get in Los Angeles. I have searched high and low for good pizza and I finally found it 2 years ago after having bad pizza for like 8 years. I always get sausage and pepperoni. The meat is good quality and the sauce is perfect. Nice and cheesy too. If you live nearby try to get it delivered because customer service is not their forte. Especially from the owners. They always seem frazzled and are not friendly when Ive eaten in. Also dont order the tiramisu it use to be really good and homemade but now its this store bought tiny little so so tasting dessert that I will never buy again. I will say it again.....the best pizza in los angeles.

This place deserves nothing but 5 starts! Pizza is beyond expectations! Ravioli and spaghetti was amazing! The serve is good. Their layout of this place is really pretty. It gives you that homey feeling! These chefs really know how to cook! I would recommend this place to anyone who likes Italian food! I would be returning to this place shorty for their bomb bacon pizza! Go Antonio's!!!

I love Antonio's! My favorite sauce is the alfredo. The pizza is a winner here, too. Remember to "check in" on Yelp when you're there so you can get a free little app! Great little non-chain Italian restaurant with a home-town feel to it.

Where do I start! My family and I have been looking for a great Italian restaurant since moving into the area. After playing the "what do you want for dinner... I dunno" game, we decided to read some Yelp reviews for Antonio's. We were not impressed by the reviews but since we have all been in customer service jobs in the past we decided to look at the complaints with a grain of salt. I'm so very glad we did! Walking in to the restaurant we noticed it was somewhat busy. The dining room was almost full but we were immediately greeted as if the person already knew us. She seated us in a corner and there wasn't a person in the place not laughing and having fun. The place was clean and it had cute decor. Looking over the rather large menu options she decided to take our drink orders answering questions about the available wine and finally recommending an excellent one. She delivered the drinks and left us to the waiter as she moved to another table to see how the food was. She never stopped talking to her customers and I assume this was Alex from reading the reviews on here. We ordered the Pasta Monica and garlic bread. While waiting for the food to arrive we joined in the birthday song for the guest at the next table... That's how we roll. They thought it was funny. The food came out, the waiter was very professional and friendly. He explained how the dish was named (someone famous... Next time you go in ask them the story!) and said hoped we enjoyed the dish. The food turned out AWESOME! As we were eating, Alex came by our table to see how everything was. Perfect wine choice and great pasta. No complaints here. After we finished dinner, we ordered coffees. Fresh coffee was promptly brought out. We were also informed we should try the pizza next time we were in. The bill was handed over to us and I was shocked at how affordable such a great meal was! Listen folks. The only reason we gave Antonio's a chance was the simple fact that Alex was attentive in her Yelp reviews responses. She was equally attentive to her customers. Since moving into this area I've never been treated this good by staff at a restaurant. From the customer service upon arriving, to the moment we walked out the door full and happy, it was worth the effort to give them the chance. That was the first trip here... We went back for the pizza the very next night. OMG... So good. We will be back Thursday to celebrate my son's birthday. Can't wait!

This place is awesome. The meatballs are fantastic and the best I have ever had. The pizza is quite tasty as well. I feel that the service is always very good and have never had an issue. The Spumante is quite delicious and I recommend that to anyone looking to get dessert. The antipasto salad is also quite good and I love their salad dressing. But you must get the meatballs if you go seriously they are fantastic

I've been coming to Antonio's for many years. First as a bachelor eating pasta with pals, then date nights, and now as the host of my toddler's birthday parties and family nights out. I've always felt at home at Antonios. My family loves the food, the choices (now very important to the little ones...), and the atmosphere.

We went there for an early dinner. I really wanted to try their chicken marsala but we ordered two pizzas and they were huge and delicious. But even better, we got a side order of meatballs and they were to die for!!! I will be going back just for them. I don't know how we have missed this place. The pizza had plenty of toppings and was very good also. The staff was friendly and helpful and we even got a risotto ball appetizer for a check in special. We will be back!

We love Antonios! We've tried other pizza places, but we always go back to them. Just something about their pizza is so awesome. The owners are super sweet, and treat everyone who walks in like they've known them forever. We sometimes have them deliver on occasion-and they do that as well! It's best to eat the food at the restaurant though, it's super fresh and of course everything tastes best right out of the oven. Desserts are really good too! Highly recommend the spumoni pie. It's a combo of ice cream, coconut, graham crackers...lots of yummy things! Oh, and we have antonios about once a week. :)

This place sucked. Came in tonight and there was 2 tables filled in the entire restaurant. Stood and waited to be seated for almost 5 minutes without anyone even acknowledging we were there. Finally got seated. The water tasted like they scooped it up from a toilet and put a lemon wedge in it. Ordered a mojito and they forgot it. My girlfriend ordered pasta and and the vegetables in it weren't even cooked, just thrown into the dish. I ordered the Chick Parmesan and the marinara was so sour I thought it was spoiled I only got through a few bites before giving up. Spent $64 bucks on the worst italian dinner of my life. I would have been happier with an Italian BMT from subway. Will NEVER go near this place again.

Best pizza in LA! I love the Antonio's special! It has a massive amount of toppings, which is awesome! Delicious all around! My brother claims it's the closest thing to real Italian pizza, he traveled their a few years ago. Alex, the owner, is one of the nicest people I know! She is more than willing to go above and beyond for her customers and always seems to have a smile on her face! Awesome family fun atmosphere too!

Very disappointing. The pizza did not live up to these reviews or its price. The crust was cardboard-like, toppings bland, probably generic Sysco ingredients rather than quality food worthy of the gourmet pricing. The mozzarella was like something out of a government food bank.

This is the best of the best in service and the pizza is the best, a Great find. Will always come back. You can't get a better combo. The owner is on the promises and goes around to each table to say welcome and to introduce herself. I work for bmw and know what customer service is al about. My name is al herbst from bmw. You will love this place.

Fabulous Gluten-Free pizza and dishes. This is really good gluten free pizza. But the five star review is because Antonio's makes other items gluten-free upon request. We love their gluten-free manicotti and gluten free rissoto balls appetizer. The cucumber-chickpea salad is wonderful.

Antonio's is my favorite Italian restaurant in the Valley and one of my favorite in all of Los Angeles. The food is wonderful. The service is great. The prices are perfect. The plate I have to rave about is a very simple plate really, a staple: Spaghetti and Meatball. The menu says "meatball" instead of meatballs because the single meatball provided is as big as a softball. I tend to break up the meatball and spread the meat into the pasta and then I add pepper and parmesan. I took my friend Eric to Antonio's today for lunch and he also loved the place and the ambiance. I introduced him to the "meatball" plate and he couldn't even finish the whole meal. Another item from the menu I love at this restaurant is their strawberry lemonade. Actual strawberry and lemon slices are in the glass as well as a touch of mint. Very refreshing. Other plates I must recommend, all of them very tasty and enjoyable to your palate: Pasta Rossa, the Gnochi plate, the meat Lasagna, any of the Veal plates (one half of a page on the menu is devoted to perfectly made veal) and the Chicken Romano. They serve sweet rolls with every plate as well. Also, soup or salad with every plate, their minestrone soup is very good. Strangely, the only item I have never ordered here is the Pizza and this place is a Pizzeria. But their pasta is so good that I already have a craving for pasta before I even step through their threshold. 4 out of 5 stars. My only complaint is parking and table availability. Parking is horrible. You have to park on the street on Ventura or on any of the side streets, and sometimes I have decided to eat somewhere else because I could not find parking nearby. When you do find parking then the parking is metered, so bring spare change for the meter. And the restaurant is so good and popular that sometimes a person has to wait a while to get a table on Friday and Saturday nights. I tend to go to this restaurant in the early evening or for lunch on the weekends to avoid the crowds. THEY DELIVER! A fact I forget but I suspect I live a bit far to order delivery but something to keep in mind.

This place is the best!!! Italian food is not my favorite, but I can't stop thinking about my visit to Antonio's! The pizza, pasta, and gnocchi were amazing. The restaurant has such a family/homey feel to it that dining there was nothing short of fantastic. My boyfriend and I went there for Friday night dinner but this place is great for groups as well. I've lived in the area for years and I'm sad that it took me this long to discover this place. Can't wait to go back!

I'm new to the area, so I only discovered Antonio's recently. I went there with my family on my birthday a little over a week ago. Not only is the food delicious and the service top-notch, but I love how comfortable and friendly the place is. Since my birthday, I have ordered delivery from Antonio's and I have been back there with a couple friends. And I'm going back this Sunday. I know, I'm eating way too much pizza in such a short period of time, but what can I say, I'm a fan of this place. Jose and Alex are great!

Because I live closer to Maria's Kitchen, I often forget that Antonio's is nearby. Lately, I have made an effort to visit Antonio's and my efforts have been worth it. Antonio's is the smaller of the two establishments but its smaller size also makes it more cozy. There is a dining room in the front and one in the back, which is usually quieter. The antipasto is great (they will ask if you want it chopped, which is the way I usually go) and the pizzas are tasty and filling. The service is attentive and super friendly. The place is comfortable and unpretentious, which is a plus in my book. There are enough pretentious restaurants to attract the pretentious people living in Los Angeles. I recommend giving Antonio's a try if you haven't done so.

Chickpea Salad, Burrata and Tomato salad, large pizza. Perfectly prepared. NICE owners and waiters. You have to try he Bannana Split Cake for desert. I shall return. Next time I will ask that the crust be baked well done..

now open at 11 am, which is very helpful and makes this place more accessible. pizza benefits when crust is spun extra-thin. meatball sandwich features nice-sized meatballs, though often under-sauced so i remember to ask for marinara on the side, which works out okay. cheese is still extra. i wish the roll were crunchy on the outside but at least it's an italian sandwich roll and not the dreaded ciabatta or pizza bread. maybe not the place for a first date, but fine for families and casual dining in a dark restaurant with stained glass windows and padded vinyl booths.

Wow, what can I say...I was lulled into this joint by the sign. And let me tell you, that Italy-shaped neon with Antonio's running down it is certainly eye-catching. Scratch that...the sign is awesome. Sadly, that and the kitschy decor are the lone positives here. I know, I know...it's really tough to drive on by because of the sheer magnetism of the sign so try to resist. Too weak and couldn't resist? Just had to park and walk in? Me too. Comically bad Italian with over-cooked pasta, sauces with no flavor and a frozen/pre-made taste to everything. Okay, I get it, not everyone cares for al dente pasta...no worries. So how many of you care for mushy and mealy gnocchi? (Hey, I see that toothless guy in the back with his hand up!) Fantastic food for a retirement home.

Our family just moved to Sherman Oaks and needed to find a new pizzeria. Thanks to a gift certificate generously donated by Antonio's for our daughter's new elementary school fundraiser, we found our new favorite haunt! The food is amazing and truly authentic Italian. Served by a friendly staff and complimented by a comfortable setting, our family relaxed and enjoyed a needed break from the stress associated with a new home in a new city. We love this restaurant and will return many times over!

Antonio's has been in business since 1957, so for that reason alone you should entertain supporting them. I only ordered a large Margherita pizza, so I plan to come back for the Pasta Rossa that all on Yelp are talking about. It has a great old style, red and white checkered table cloths, basketed chianti bottles, atmosphere.

My fiancé and I live right behind Antonio's and after smelling the delicious garlic smells coming from their direction we decided to give it a shot. I am not lying when I say this is the BEST Italian food restaurant I have ever been to. You can tell that their sauce is fresh and I would bet that it is homemade. We had the pepperoni pizza, risotto balls and cheese bread. Besides the food being incredible, the service could not be better. Very friendly, attentive, and speedy. We've been back a couple of times with the same service and quality of food. If you live in the area this place is a MUST.

Amazing food. You have to try the Pasta Rosa. The service is incredible as well. I wish we lived closer so we could order delivery because I'd eat it all the time. Oh and the pizza is to die for, even the next day cold.

Great Italian place with a nice atmosphere! Food is good as well as prices. Alfredo chicken is delicious and I was impressed with the selection of teas they have. I know it's got nothing to do with Italian, but hey, I just love tea!:)

Ordered delivery from here today for the first time. Pizza had good flavor. My only complaint would be that the crust was too soft- but it was good nonetheless. Also tried the pasta rossa. This was really really good! Seemed a little pricy, but the flavor or the sauce made it totally worth it. Would definitely order here again.

I came here the other night with my boyfriend and some friends. We weren't THAT satisfied. We both thought the food was a little over priced. I ordered Fettuccini Alfredo, and honestly? I make it waaaaaay better. They barely have a wine selection and don't even get me started on their beers. I'll stick to good old OG (Olive Garden) when craving Italian ^.^

Simple Italian food and friendly service. There's nothing pretentious about this place: from the plastic checkered tablecloths to the straight-forward menu items, this restaurant is a good choice when you're in the mood for a relaxed evening out. Prices are reasonable, especially for the serving sizes. My favorite thing is they're very approachable about customizing dishes (in our case, making something vegetarian or vegan). I had the wheat spaghetti with broccoli, and my husband had the vermicelli capellini. Both were down-home basic, but good. The rolls were ok: they had almost a sourdough-like flavor to them, while I was hoping for more of a ciabatta-style bread. Ambience is cozy, but definitely "hole in the wall." There are the afore-mentioned plastic, checkered tablecloths; a flat-screen TV perched on a table near the open kitchen; and laminated plastic menus. Overall, a place that ranks "ok" in my book for food and ambience, and "superb" on friendliness.

It's like heading over for a family gathering. Or just grab a quiet booth corner if you want to be alone, watch the game, read a book with your meal! I can't eat pizza anywhere else. Homemade sauce. Genuine Italian. And Gluten free, too. Love to our long standing, locals!

  • Jeff H.

I have been a fan of Antonio's for a long time. The food is always good, there is an excellent variety and it is moderately priced. I particularly like their angel hair pomodoro and the fettuccine verdi with garlic oil. However, their mushroom pizza is as good as it gets as is their garlic cheese bread. The environment is a traditional family style Italian restaurant with checkered table cloths, wicker bottles, and wall to wall art. The owners and employees are very friendly and welcoming too. I would recommend Antonio's if you have not been there before and you are in Sherman Oaks.

The pizza was great but what was even better was the service! Lady working the front (might be the owner) was awesome!! She went above and beyond to give us great service and everything we needed. I ate cold pizza the next day for breakfast and it was still great!!!!!

We've lived nearby for 6 years and finally made our way into this great 50-year-old establishment for the first time tonight. We were greeted warmly at the door by the owner who lead us to a nice corner table apart from the low-key Monday night crowd. We kept it simple, ordering a Spring Salad off of the special menu as a starter. It came with cranberries, walnuts, and bleu cheese in a vinaigrette. It was a nice salad and a good size for two people. As a matter of personal preference I'd only recommend that they consider candied walnuts in place of the raw ones. We ordered the Vegetarian Pizza and were delighted to find that it was not too heavy while still tasting like a good pizza should. It's a menu item for which we'd definitely return. Some may consider the low strains of O Sole Mio and Frank Sinatra songs a touch dated, but we felt they added to the overall charm. This is one of those restaurants that has not changed since it first opened and we hope it stays that way.

Ordered the cheesy garlic bread and a large pizza and wow, was in a pizza cheesy coma/fantasy come true! My boyfriend and I came on a Sunday night and it was filled with a nice, mixed crowd: older couples dining in a group, families, younger groups of friends. The decor was charming and I felt like I was in a little Italian hide-away in Chicago or New York -- I loved it. The pizza was fresh, piping hot, and soo good. Very reasonably priced, with great attentive service, and an extensive pasta menu that I wouldn't mind sampling. Looking forward to another pizza date here with my man. ;)

Came in on a Friday night for heavy Italian food to prepare for the long night ahead. The place has an odd ambiance. Their dining floor plan is separated by an open kitchen and there is a flat screen TV on one of the tables playing basketball. Kind of a mix of outdated sports bar, fast food pizza, and intimate Italian dining. We ordered beers (which were available by bottle only), pizza (me) and the pasta rosa (her). The food was excellent. The New York style pizza was cooked perfectly. Service was fast and friendly. We left thinking this was a good spot to start our night out. A bit more upscale than a Robbie Macs or Vitellos. On our next visit, I think we'll try the wine which looked to be on-tap.

The restaurant is charming in that old American I-talian way. classics playing -when the moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie- etc.. The food is good but has a little bit of a pre packaged taste for certain things. sevice was good.

My family and I went here a few nights ago. Great pasta! My wife got the gnocchi and I had the fettuccine alfredo. Both were really good. The portion sizes are quite large. I ended up taking about 3/4 of it home to eat later. The prices were very reasonable for a sit-down, family friendly restaurant. Between my wife and I and our two kids, we spent about $50. But that included three entrees, an appetizer, and three desserts. The place was pretty empty, but this was a Monday night. Our waiter was attentive and friendly. One downside, though minor, is that I don't like it when owners/managers/etc sit at the tables or in view of the customers. They should not be doing paperwork or playing games on their iPads. Take it in the back, out of view. Nevertheless, it didn't affect the overall experience.

We've been a few times now and I felt I should revise my review a bit. As a family place, where there are things kids like to eat and the restaurant welcomes children, this place gets 4 stars. The pizza right out of the oven is good and liked by all, prices are reasonable, nice beers on tap, just don't have too high a set of expectations.

THE BEST HOME-STYLE ITALIAN AROUND! We've been enjoying Antonio's for years! When it comes to good food, excellent service, and great prices, you can't beat it! I have friends from Orange County and across the Valley that will drive here just for their awesome food and family environment. Must haves: Appetizers - Garlic Cheese Bread, Minestrone Soup Entrees - Their pizzas are awesome! They have a crispy thin crust and wonderful taste. I've had their basic cheese pizza (which my husband swears by) to their more complex pizzas. Their meatballs are also a fav of mine. An all-beef meatball that pairs wonderfully with their manicotti or just plain ol' spaghetti. Other things like their pasta rosa, linguine and clams, and their fettuccine (not water, just plain creamy :) ). Dessert: They have a petite truffle i think it's called.... If you're into chocolate - it's a must! They also have a cannoli that's special to their restaurant. That's also amazing as well. Try their House Chianti! Not too dry... with a lil bit of sweet. Love it! I completely recommend this place to everyone I know!

I normally don't do this.. But this is the worst representation of Italian food i have ever experienced. The pizza is lousy undercooked dough, pasta is way over cooked, salad drenched in packaged Italian dressing, terrible wine list, ghetto service and terrible floor manager that constantly shouting at you, in welcoming and no grace. Bad service! Might as well have been at barones's oh wait that would of been better. Awful awful awful!

Great food consistently. Pizza's are GREAT, try the Antonio's Special. Love this place, food and ambience is great. Friendly staff, but service is not the best. The servers always forget something, every single time I go. But I always shake it off, as the food is always good, and eventually I get everything I need. This is a casual, place to relax, nothing moves fast here, but again, the food and atmosphere brings me back again and again.

We have been eating here for more than 15 years. This is a family run old school Italian restaurant. It's been in the family 52 years and it shows. The atmosphere is kind of corny, but it's charming and the brother and sister owner take care of you. Most of the servers they hire are great and it just feels like we are at home (of course after 15 years you sort of expect that feeling). The prices are not dirt cheap for what you get (veal dishes run around $17 with soup or salad, pastas closer to 10 with $3 extra for salad). But the food quality is good and consistent. The pizza is simply delicious and a great value as you can feed a lot with a pie. They use very high quality cheese and lots of it and the quality shows through in every bite. Their toppings are superb, again they don't buy the average restaurant wholesale peperoni or other toppings. They buy what they would want to it and it shows. My personal favorite is the veal marsala and gnocchi. The gnocchi comes with a tomato-riccotta sauce but you can change it up for one of their other sauces. I often order a different sauce in the pasta dishes to try different tastes and it is no problem at all. They actually have only three or four basic sauces or you can mix some of them together to get a different flavor. Chicken romano is also a favorite (boneless chicken cacciatore). After years of no discounts at all, they have started advertising discounts all over including here. At full price I consider the prices to be fair but not cheap. If you get money off, this place is a real deal. Give it a try and say that you saw Charles and Gary's review on yelp.

Been coming here since '64.. My Brother would bring us here when the folks went out, all the way from Northridge!! Didn't matter, it was worth it for (at THAT time) the BEST Pizza in the valley. Was thru here 20+ years ago and the place had just been sold to a family that promised to keep the place "As-IS!!" They have done a good job.. Although the place needs a "spruce-up" BAD, I can see why they don't want to touch it and mess up their "Grandfather" on the place. I came here to relive their pizza and it was STILL very, very good!! Not quite sure it was "Casa Bianca" good, as I am now a THIN crust kinda guy, but if you don't wanna hassel the drive, parking, and a long line, this place is plenty good enough! Good pasta, great salads, and just enough hanging Chianti bottles to make you feel some ambiance.. Do NOT worry, this is good solid stuff from some highly kept and strictly followed family recipes. The flat screen at the one table is for the book-keeping, Managing, VERY nice lady who is filling a chair thats been there as long as I've been coming here! Main thing about THAT??? They LOVE the NBA!!! Works for me!!!

I ordered food to go. I liked their pizza and loved their salad, but I ordered the pizza to go and they didn't put napkins, or a fork in my to go bag!! I was in a hurry and it was my mistake for not asking before I walked the door, but most places do this for you!!

My dad has been coming here since HE was in high school so it is no surprise that Antonio's is a family favorite! We now have 3 generations of Antonio's customers! The pasta rosa and the tortellini with chicken are my faves (my 5yr olds too - even though they have a kid menu she wants these and then she have leftovers for tomorrow!) The portion sizes are generous, the staff treats everyone like friends. If you have never been - you must go - family friendly and delicious. What more could you want???

I love going here because the service always makes you feel like you are part of the family. They've been around since 1957 and I'm always greeted by a friendly hello and a hug. The pizza is the best pizza I've ever tasted. I love the rolls too! Dipped those in the minestrone soup is the best. The bruschetta and garlic bread are to die for as well. They are always having promotions going and every Wednesday is Kids Eat Free night, so we usually take my son. Follow their Facebook page as well to stay on top of their current promos. facebook.com/antoniospiz…

I'm a local and huge fan of this joint. The owner/waitress/everything is the sweetest, coolest lady, and also Dodger fan, which is the icing on the cake. The ambiance is the main attraction for me. It's got that family vibe, but also boasts a warm and true Italian feeling. I also love the grub; the risotto is off the hook.

I have loved this place since my mom and dad took me here when I was a little dude back in the 50s! This is where I learned to love to eat pie! And watch them throw it too. Lovely old school atmosphere with the Chianti bottles hanging from the rafters, and murals of Italy painted on the walls. Beautiful, classic, tasty. Has been for over 50 years. Great memories are even better when they stay alive. Keep up the good work Antonio's!

Really wish it had been better because I really want to like this place. I go about once every five years because I either don't remember how mediocre it is or I hope they've gotten better. But it's always mediocre. Like an Italian "Denny's". And it's such a great location - ti really ought to be a Valley Gem! Pizza was OK, too drowned in cheese for me, but edible, "Bruschetta" bordered on BAD, just some chopped tomato and garlic on those little garlic toasts you get in big bags at the supermarket - UGH!. My wife's eggplant parm was edible, side of spaghetti marinara was the blandest sauce ever. I mean sauce from a jar would have been better. Prices are very reasonable, and maybe this is the problem. Based on the location, I'd expect and would like to pay a little more for a better dining experience.

We had the utmost displeasure of dining here and will never go back! I agree with earlier review by Rueben B. about the owners acting like you are doing them a favor by eating there. R U D E!!! Alex has to be the rudest, most inhospitable owner ever! Apparently, she does not understand the importance of customer service & hospitality! Nor does she seem to care about the importance of customer retention. This restaurant is a participant of restaurant.com but refused to honor the gift certificate we paid for. She said not valid on Saturdays. The restaurant sets their own rules. No where on the long list of rules did it state that it was not valid on Saturdays. We pointed this out to her and she said she didn't care because she doesn't want to take them on Saturdays because that is her busy day. Well, I can tell you, it was not busy! When we looked around and all the empty tables were pointed out to her, she said "Don't look at my restaurant -or this conversation is over...What does this restaurant.com gift certificate do for me"??? Well Alex, it advertises and attracts hundreds of new customers who may not otherwise know of, or visit your restaurant. These new customers would fill your empty tables and bring in more revenue. OMG - her attitude was unbelievable. On top of the bad attitude.... The place was dingy, peeling veneer around the counter and cash register. Chairs are grimy and worn....Plus, around $75 for two pizzas, a salad, gnocchi, 2 beers & 2 root beers. This would be fine, if the food was fine. It was not. The pizza reminds me of, and takes me back.... to drive-in movie theater pizza. Gnocchi was Yucchi, Much tastier pizza & pasta restaurants close by with friendly service too, on Ventura Blvd. like Spumoni's or Vitello's.

When we are town visiting my sister, we eat at Antonio's. What started as just a place to get a pizza has turned into a family tradition, for anniversaries, birthdays and just family time. The reason is not only the great food but the WONDERFUL staff! Alex always welcomes us warmly and the waiters are so cool and fun to talk to. Thank you for making us feel special you guys!

Apparently they close at 9:33. Not 10. But the doors are open. Then they change their mind about being closed a chase you down the street to tell you their now open. Well are you or are you not open and ready to serve paying customers and make money. That's the point right? Was looking forward to making a positive review on a full belly. Instead we went a few doors down to La Cava. Better.

Wow! JUST...WOW! Ate here a couple of nights ago with some friends and we sat next to a "regular" who told us about how great the food was and to try the spinach/artichoke dip...which we did....it was AMAZING! After that, they brought our our pizza which was one of the best I've ever had. If that wasn't enough, we ordered dessert (just because everything else was so good) and that was absolutely delicious as well. What a great meal with great service! I will definitely be back to Antonio's - if you haven't been here before, you are in for a REAL treat! :)

Another joint I remember from my college days, I thought I had reviewed them before. Ownership changed awhile back I'm pretty sure becuase the crust is different than it used to be....now its more of a NY style I think.... not a hand tossed pizza with an outer crust....but the new pizza crust is still excellent. I highly recommend the italian sausage as a topping, or the Special Pizza

This is BY FAR one of the best Italian restaurants EVER!!!! Linguine and white clam sauce is off the hook and their pizza is FABULOUS. Reminds me of an "old school" mid-western , family owned hole in the wall , but clean!

Stopped by last night for late dinner and thought it was really good. It's a romantic, "traditional" Italian restaurant, complete with red checked table covers lol but I liked it. I'm all about the red sauce, it sets the tone for me for dishes and pizza, and theirs is absolutely sweet and delicious. We ordered the Mozzarella cheese (only order if you are sharing) as an appetizer which was a giant "chicken parmesan" sized fried cheese slab drowned in marinara sauce topped with a slice of cheese. OMG it was good but not for the faint of heart lol. The rolls are awesome and were great for dipping in all the extra sauce we had from the cheese. They are completely generous with their toppings too. Our pizza was overloaded with mushrooms and tomatoes on one half and clams, and vegetarian on the other side so it was hard to lift but well worth it. It still had the perfect cheese/sauce to topping consistency which seems to elude so many pizzerias. The service was very quick too. We never had to wait for anything long. We were recommended a Chilean Chardonay and it complemented our meal perfectly. It was a fruity wine and well worth taking the bottle home. Sadly, I need a refill already lol :)

Fantastic pizzeria. The antipasto salad and pizza were very tasty. Will definitely be back. The service is great, although at times it can get busy. Highly recommended after a round of golf where your golf buddy owes you enough to buy you dinner.

Furthermore the last time I went to Antonio's the waiter kept pushing me and my friend to buy a bottle of wine when we made it very clear that we only wanted a glass each even if it was more expensive. The waiter insisted and insisted that we buy a bottle. We finally caved into the pressure and ended up drinking more wine than we should have. When you tell a waiter twice that you only want a glass of wine and the waiter continues to insist that you buy a bottle, you know something is very wrong. It really sucks because I want so badly to go back there and have fun with my guitar teacher but I want to be treated with respect as a valued customer and I don't think that is possible by the likes of my last experience there. The food is excellent and the regular customers become your friends and the prices are fair. I wish there was some way I could work things out so I could go play with my guitar teacher there. When you really love a place and it is the only great gig in town to perform with your guitar teacher and you love everything it has to offer and the manager treats you as if you are not a valued customer it is very sad. I am bummed.

Great Italian food, their "Pasta Rosa" is a must have. Pizza is only sold by the pie :/ it's fairly good, crust is a little soft. Not true NY style but definitely worth a try

My friend's parents have been going to this restaurant since they moved to the Valley back in the 60s. I don't know if it's a family-run restaurant, but from what her parents told me, it looks pretty much the same all these years. Of course, they expanded from a much smaller space, but the decor is somewhat unchanged. The service was nice and friendly. The pizzas came out piping hot and fresh. Unfortunately, I didn't have any, so I can't attest to the overall flavor and quality, but everyone at the table seemed to have enjoyed their slices. There was one large half cheese and half pepperoni pizza, and one large pizza topped with green peppers, sausage, and garlic. Everything was eaten save for two slices of the cheese pizza. Our group also had two orders of their large Caesar salad, which the menu and server claimed that a single large salad could feed two people. I suppose if one were eating pizza and salad, then a large salad might be too much. However, I think I could have easily finished off the salad by myself, if that were all I wanted to eat. As for me, since I wasn't very hungry, and was there for the company and not the food, I had a small order of the Italian salad, which was simply iceberg lettuce topped with kidney beans (which I left behind), chickpeas, and some red beets...nothing special. The house dressing tasted like it came from a bottle of supermarket salad dressing, and not the better brand. I also had a side order of a single meatball. It ended up being a very generously-sized meatball, and it was slathered in a tasty marinara sauce. The meatball was pretty good and made up for the limp and dull salad. If I'm in the area and craving pizza, I would definitely give this place another try. However, I wouldn't go out of my way for it.

What a nice Italian place to dine. The atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable. The Pasta Rossa and pizza are our favorites. The staff is very friendly and service has always been good. Save room for the home made cannolies, they are fantastic!

I've eaten at my fair share of Pizzeria's and this bar far is the best! The service is excellent.. the atmosphere is amazing, complete with checkered red and white table cloths. I'm in love with the Canoli's there!! My guilty pleasure indeed. And the pizza.. yummm.. I've never been kept waiting around.. Everyone is smiling.. The prices are excellent.. and the Chianti.. delicious!! I highly recommend this place!!

This is one of your classic, dimly-lit with colored glass, plush seats and italian opera playing pizza & italian food joints with really good pizza (we always get the gluten-free for my wife). We haven't tried the pasta yet, always defaulting to pizza, but next time we're gonna try it. The more I visit this place, the more I like it.

Ordered a gluten free veggie pizza for take out. The staff was friendly but was disappointed in the quality of veggies and the sauce was not very tasty. Seemed a bit expensive for the portion size too.

This is my favorite Italian restaurant, period! I love the food, the atmosphere and the service. The spaghetti and meatballs (they are HUGE) are my favorite and the bread is out of this world. If you haven't been to this place - get there!

This place is authentic! You can just tell when you walk in that the food is going to taste like real Italian food. All the tables have red and white checkers on them, which really adds to the casual vibe of the place. The parking is street parking only, and metered parking at that, but it ends at 7pm which is perfect because that's when a lot of people go out to eat. My family and I were seated right away and asked what we'd like to drink. Once we ordered, I had to ask for bread (which was free), and it was hot and delicious--right out of the oven! We ordered pizza, chicken parmigiana, and stuffed shells with meat sauce. All of those dishes were a good portion and enough food for 4 people. The pizza was delicious, although it was a little burned on the bottom. Everything was very tasty, good and hot to my liking! I definitely recommend this place if you're looking for a casual, yet authentic Italian restaurant to go to!

A really great "local" Italian restaurant that I see pretty much never in my life in so cal. Two things that were great about this place 1) their version of mozzarella sticks was a BLOCK of cheese, covered in batter, covered in marinara sauce. 2) while we were there a children's magician showed up to play a party happening in the front room, on the way out we watched him perform to a room full of rapt 10 year olds. Amazing.

I LOVE THEIR PIZZA! Beautifully made and I truly believe it's the best pizza in town. I am not a crust lover, but Antonio's pizza totally changed my mind. I've never had a tastier crust than theirs. I look forward to the crust of each slice. Btw, yes I would like another pizza!

Great neighborhood restaurant. Menu is well balanced and everything comes out well prepared and delicious. Service is always very attentive and polite. Alex, one of the owners is super friendly and always ready to accomodate any special request. Restaurant has an old world charm setting them ahead of all the other chains out there. Quality and quantity leaves you satisfied and content. Will return.

I have eaten at this restaurant more times in my life than any other restaurant by a large margin. I have probably been coming here with my family for 20+ years (I'm only 27) and I just recently moved to Sherman Oaks so I will now start going on my own now. I have never had a bad meal here and service is always excellent. Actually, when I come with my family, we don't even look at menus. They just come to our table and ask us if we are having "the usual" which is generally a couple of pizzas and some antipasto salads. I am a very adventurous eater but the purity of the standard cheese pizza here is where it's at. It is hands down the best cheese pizza I have ever had. The pasta dishes, salads, rolls and other pizzas are great too - but get the cheese pizza, you won't be disappointed. This is one of those down home, old-school, family run restaurants that are hard to find these days. Next time you are in the mood for Italian food (or just food in general), think about trying this place out (you can't miss that neon sign in the shape of Italy). Man, this is making me hungry. I need to get back to Antonio's ASAP.

This was my first visit to Antonio's based on reviews here on YELP. I've missed the place in spite of 20 years living in the neighborhood. Saturday afternoon, around 2:00 PM. There was no parking available in the small lot in the back and only 1 metered space available on the street. This may well be why I have passed; I generally HATE valet and having to hunt for parking - a common problem for places on the boulevard. The place was packed with kids - looked like a birthday party: Magician and everything! A little on the inconvenient side, but it added to the family/neighborhood feel of the place. I ordered a large pepperoni and mushroom pizza to go.The staff were extremely friendly and went out of their way to acknowledge the chaos of the party. The price was quite reasonable - $14.88 including tax. I am quite happy with the quality of the pizza. Great crust, very fresh tasting sauce , just the right amount of cheese and toppings; cooked to perfection. I wasn't too excited when I saw the fresh mushrooms were minced, but I was very happy with the flavor. No doubt I'll be back.

I got a large pizza with clams, onions, mushrooms, and basil. Absolutely delicious. A tad pricey (~$18 with tax), but super worth it in my opinion.

  • Jaime C.

First off, the pizza was top notch! Tasted great then and the day after. The ambience was also reminiscent of an old pizza joint and warm and welcoming like you had stepped into a family member's kitchen. That also was a bit of a problem as the kitchen area is flanked by female and male bathrooms with some food being uncovered right outside the male bathroom door and at waist high level. Maybe in nitpicking here but i tend to think it was poor design. Service could be a bit speedier, took a bit to even get our drink orders in a three-quarters empty place. Will probably get delivery next time and not think of the bathroom next to the food.

Service was good, but the food is not so much. We love pizza, good pizza. This was far from passable. Crust was made of a bizzare type of dough, and was soft and a bit soggy. It just did not have anything about it that would make us come back. We only ate one piece each of an entire pizza because is was so mediocre.

  • Kay B.

I dig this place. Old school authentic, clean, good service, huge portions, comfortable and unassuming. We just moved to the neighborhood and walked here for an early low key dinner. It was a great fit for our mood- casual and hungry. Not the most innovative cuisine. But look...get the pizza and pasta and the old standards and you're in great shape. Great service- unlike a LOT of places in the surrounding blocks (you hear me Mr. Cecil's BBQ Ribs??) Anyways- we'll be back for sure.

I was really excited to try this place. The food was very meh. I've lived in the area for almost 20 years and can say that I'll never go back. I had a good pasta which earned them a second star, but everything else (pizza, salad, lasagna) was very sub par. I'm by no means saying it was gross, it just wasn't for me. It was a cool atmosphere, though.

Just ate here last night, and it was delicious! This is an old-school Italian restaurant with authentic decor, high quality service, and wonderful food. We had both pizza and pasta in our group, and everyone was pleased. The pizza was the right amount of crispy and the pasta was well-cooked. Excellent service and fair prices for the amount of food, too!

Terrible service. 4 adults and the waiter, Jose, brings 3 rolls. We were there on a Sunday evening and the place was half empty. They sat us in a corner next to a family with children. We asked to move, knowing our group likes adult conversation, and the waiter told us there was no place to move us. Anyway, we all ordered entrees and the house specialty pizza. The pizza was loaded, greasy, and green pepper heavy. When asked we were told that they soak the green peppers in oil for a long period of time. Gross. Food was mediocre at best, service also mediocre. Progresso makes a tastier minestrone. Overall a bad experience, would not recommend.

This place has mediocre service and a not-too-friendly staff but the everything pizza - meats, vegetables, and the works - is the best I've ever had in L.A. I tried it once with just the meatball but it wasn't the same. Trust me, get the pizza with everything and you'll love it. The garlic bread is just okay -- and the pasta dishes are okay but this pizza is my favorite because of its taste.

We are big fans of this place! I love the Veggie pizza, my 2 1/2 year old loves the minestrone soup and my husband loves the chix parm. They make their own bread and sauces and dressings.

I've been driving by this landmark with the big green neon map of Italy since I moved to LA 30-some years ago. Always thought about trying. My wife and I finally did on a Friday night a few weekends ago. Food was just "OK". Pizza toppings were fine but the crust reminded us of something you would get with a frozen pizza or in the school cafeteria. Antipasto salad was pretty good. The primary reason though for the two star service (not the waiter, the management). Waiter was nice enough. We were initially seated at a corner table for two that was extremely cramped. We were told the table didn't move, so we couldn't push it out to create more room. So, after a few minutes we got up and moved to a larger table that was set for four, sitting side by side on the "booth side". At this point let me state that the restaurant was practically empty, maybe 2 other tables with guests, and lots of large tables or tales that could be pushed together were unoccupied. When our salad came out, it was the manager or owner (middle aged woman with long dark hair pulled into a ponytail who brought it over after we saw her chat with our waiter and she did not look happy. She asked us 'are you expecting more people?". we said no, and explained nicely why we had moved there. She then told us "I would like you to move to a small two person table, because I need this table for large parties. We politely asked if we couldn't just stay here since we already had our wine, and salad, and there were a ton of empty tables. To this she sternly replied (in a tone as if talking to misbehaving children) "What I need you to do.....is move to another table, so I can seat a large party here." We just looked at each other speechless for a few seconds. At this point we should have just gotten up, paid for our wine and salad and left, but we were hungry so we moved, got our pizza ate it and left. Note that the entire time were were there only a few more tables filled up but there were still plenty of empty tables. I understand if the place was even half full, politely asking if we would move, and we would have obliged, or probably not taken that table to begin with. The waiter did apologize later and say "I don't make the rules" Mediocre food is not worth being treated like this. Two stars is generous, I feel. Can't recommend this place. Now after wondering for all those years, i don't have to wonder any longer, or go back.

Decent tasting pizza but very soggy. They need to get what my old job had which was a contraption you put the pizza on top of that has drainage holes in. Btw, veggie toppings are more likely to cause the sogginess you see in pizzas namely mushrooms. We had a Hawaiian pizza btw. If they sorted out the soggy problem, we may be back

Antonio's is a great place for families. It's been around for more than 40 years (I don't know the history but on our first visit, we met at a family that had been going there that long). Not exactly sophisticated faire; the menu is simple, the wine list even more so. However, the service is very good; prices are more than fair; the ambience is cozy and comfortable; and our 2-year old loves going there. I give them high marks for their pizza and just a great family experience!

I've been meaning to try this place out for the last, oh...10 years or so? It's a cute little place on Ventura near Woodman that has been there since before I was born. I love how old-school it is! I got a coupon from Restaurant.com for $25 for $8...so figured it was finally time to check it out. We went for an early-ish dinner on a Sunday night. It's very small room, with long red leather booths all around the outside wall and a few tables in the middle (which were all put together for an extremely random group of old bikers and really hot chicks). We shared the small antipasto ($8), which was a great chopped salad with kidney beans, garbanzo beans, salami, mozzarella, beets, pepperoncinis, etc. etc. etc. They served the dressing on the side (a really tasty vinagrette), which i liked. I hate when salads are dripping with dressing. We also shared the large pizza with three toppings (about $15): pepperoni, mushrooms and olives. They do NOT scimp on toppings. There were tons of all three toppings, and lots of ooey gooey cheese. The crust was nicely thin, and the sauce was tasty. I do feel the crust could've used some salt, and the sauce a litttttle more seasoning, but definitely good. They also have an extremely cheap wine list. Nothing amazing, mind you, but the Chianti Ruffino was $25. I think it's about $10 in the grocery store...so the markup is totally on the low end for what restaurants usually charge. We'll definitely come back! Very reasonably priced, yummy pizzas...and great old-school charm! I loved the red and white checkered table cloths and the big comfy red leather booths!

Perhaps the pizza and salad when dining in are edible, but the delivery version is disgusting. We asked for extra thin crust, crispy and got a very thin, mushy cardboard crust instead, with greasy toppings. As the large pizza alone didn't meet the $20 minimum delivery requirement we ordered a caesar salad for around $10. Romaine lettuce with that lousy oily CostCo dressing that comes in a 5-gallon drum. Okay, I exaggerate. It comes in a giant plastic bottle. I did ask for pepperocinis and they did put a nice dose of them in with the lettuce. $29.25. I am loathe to throw food away, but it was inedible. Oh yeah, it was also cold.

My only advice: Smile! Not the warmest environment. The owners act like they're doing you a favor. Otherwise, the food is great and who doesn't love the neon sign upfront?

I went to Antonio's on Friday night for the first time in 10 years! The decor and ambiance have remained the same (stuck in the 1950s). Pizza was great, and service was relatively fast, considering there was only one waiter for 8 full tables!

  • Rick O.

Antonio's is a great spot. We normally order pizza and enjoy it at home, but the other night we decided to stop in and give the table service a shot. It was a Tuesday night and pretty mellow with 1 waiter, 1 manager, and about five 2-tops. Service was quick and efficient. The food was great. I ordered Fettuccine Verdi (fettuccine, garlic, butter, spinach, white sauce) which was fantastic. The wife ordered a bowl of minestrone and claimed "she would order this every time we came back." The pizza is also fantastic, we usually order Antionio's Special, which has it all. I also recommend getting the additional garlic topping for the pizza (mounds of crushed garlic everywhere). Antonio's is 50+ years old and once you visit you will know why it has had such longevity along a boulevard with such a high turnover rate of restaurants. It's the food stupid...oh yeah, and the service.

  • Zan P.

Antonio's reminds me 100% of being an 8 year-old kid, growing up in New Jersey... minus my Dad putting basil in his teeth when asking for the check or my brother getting mad at me for ordering the same dish as he would. It's super old school decor and wine from the prodigious barrels, which lay on their side, are like taking a time machine to New Jersey 1984... which is rare out here. Anyway, the food... I've only experienced the pizza and wine... so here goes... AWESOME PIZZA. Very similar to the taste of Barone's, but not cut into squares :( Maybe they can do that next time. haha The taste of their pizza is EXCELLENT. The garlic and pepperoni pizza is our favorite... mostly just a great place to relax, drink cheap wine from prodigious barrels (ha) and enjoy some Italian fatty fanny food, since it makes your fanny really fat. But it's worth it! PS, the service reminds me of NJ too, very to the point, but great. Not annoying, not over-the-top, just there to serve it up. zp out.

I was out to eat with two friends last night and stumbled upon Antonio's. We were in the mood for pizza, so it was a logical choice. The pizza tasted good, and would a favorite of people who enjoy thinner crust pizza. It was perfectly cooked to be firm but not burnt to a crisp. The atmosphere is typical pizzeria... the seating was fairly comfortable. My favorite part was the waitress we had. You know how most places have a front-of-house and back-of-house? Well you can pretty much see the whole back-of-house from any seat in the place... and she was hilarious because she was SO super friendly when she was out in the dining area helping customers... and then she'd go back to the prep area and she was complaining up a storm about some other co-worker who didn't show up to work. It was like a Jekkyl and Hyde situation... and so much fun to watch it was almost dinner theatre. :-) Oh... and what is up with the lady sitting by herself with a her own personal television?

We tried this place tonight after driving by for years, and we were not disappointed! We went on the early side to accommodate our 4 year old, so it wasn't busy. It's an old school throw back -- very traditional Italian decor. The fresh bread rolls are awesome -- melt in your mouth. We ordered a pizza, and it really was one of the best we have had. I forgot to check, but I sure hope they deliver to our neighborhood! Very generous with the toppings, and the sauce and amount of cheese was perfect! As a side note, we also tried the spumoni pie for dessert and it was surprisingly good! We will definitely be back -- quite often most likely!

I've never ordered pizza from here, I've only eaten on site. It's comfortable seating and the staff is very friendly. However, the food has never been that good. I've tried the Gnocchi and the Eggplant Parmigiana and they were just okay. My boyfriend had the chicken parmigiana and said it was definitely not worth the $15. Decent, at best. Sadly enough, I'd probably go to Buca di Beppo instead.

Awesome classic Italian restaurant! Highly recommended! This is our favorite local place to eat, and a real gem that anyone who enjoys Italian food should try. Antonio's has been around since 1957 and it's easy to see why it has lasted this long. Everything on the menu is great, from the antipasto to the lasagna to the pizza to my personal favorite Pasta Rossa. They also have great service and the inside of the restaurant is so classic that you'll feel like you are stepping back in time with red/white checkered tablecloths and old-school wine bottles up on the walls. The only possible complaint I could have is about the parking, since this is right on Ventura Blvd and only has a small private lot in the back with room for a few cars, so often it takes a few minutes of driving around to find a spot on the street.

I initially came in here with a chip on my shoulder. I was prepared to not like it. Of all the restaurants we could go to, why here? (Nose in air) I haven't read anything about it. But a strange thing happened. The friend I was going to meet got hung up in traffic. Rather than traverse the streets of Ventura Boulevard until she arrived, I went in, sat down, ordered a $5 generic glass of Cabernet, and took in the scene. And as I was sitting there, a thought occurred to me. In the face of so many flashy restaurants and cheap taco trucks, we too often forget the importance of restaurants like these. Are they breaking any culinary ground? Do they sell $200 pizza with foie gras and cavier? No. But can you take your grandmother there? Absolutely! This is a family restaurant, through and through. The ceiling is adorned with twinkly lights, wax grapes, and a garland of empty bottles of chianti, while the walls are studded with plaques of appreciation from the local Little League teams. The vinyl seats are worn and cracked in places. The table cloths are checkered red and white. And the music is Dean Martin. While sitting there, I observed a large family taking up the center table. Clearly they were regulars. The children milled about as if they were at a relatives' house. The adults caught up on the current goings on of each others lives. And the waiter acted as if they, too, were another member of the family asking how so-and-so was doing. Call me a sap, but it was kind of a touching sight. Will this restaurant be taking home any Michelin stars? Unlikely. But the wine was decent, the pizza quite good, and the service was outstanding. And it was the perfect place to catch up with my dear friend.

My son and I had a small salad and large Peperoni pizza. We bought the $20 certificate for $10 and our bill was $21 so we only owed $1 plus tip. I would rate the salad as a C and the pizza a B.

This nice quiet place is a great for a quick stop for some pasta or pizza at a very fair cost. The fettuccine alfredo is very good and was only $9. I was originally scared to try it because of the price but it turned out to be A-OK. The pizza is not the best you can get in the area but certainly well worth the price. It was not crowded inside at all and the waiter was very helpful and attentive. I would return if I felt like pasta and was in the area.

You can't go wrong here. It is a great neighborhood Italian eatery. It is home cooking and it is good. Quite the value too, when you consider the neighborhood. The borther and sister team that own and operate Antonio's are amazing, along with the rest of the staff. Go twice and they will remember you.

I was psyched to grab a pizza here after reading all the great yelp reviews but was left wondering where I'd gone wrong.. Was it my choice of toppings? When I asked for garlic I didn't expect (or want) THAT MUCH dumped all over the pizza. Sauce was meh, cheese didn't impress, and the slice was pretty soggy... On the plus side the staff were friendly, the pizza was made quickly and the other items on the menu look delicious. I'd definitely return to try some of their pastas but definitely won't be having another pizza here.

Antonio's Pizzeria has been here foreva. My uncle claims he use to take all his hot dates here back in the day. Antonio's is a standard Italian restaurant complete with red and white table cloths. The food and prices are standard and my family usually does take out. The pizza, pasta, and lasagna are tasty, and the service is always fast and efficient. Overall the vibe is a bit kitchy. there is an open kitchen and photos of Italy on the wall. There is limited parking in the back, but most of the parking is metered on the street. A classic Valley establishment.

Keep it simple-this place rocks! Perhaps the Best Pizza in LA!! Meatballs were big and tasty. Gotta have their vodka sauce pasta with chicken. Casual atmosphere and great service. Will def go back for more.

I have loved coming here because it reminds me of the kind of Italian restaurant my parents took me to when I was a kid. It's old school, casual and the pizza is good. But the last time we went, we had our 17 month old son with us and he wanted to walk around the restaurant a bit. The restaurant was not at all crowded. It was a Wednesday night. But whoever was running the place was all over us to stay out of the way. No matter where we went - even places where there was nobody around - we were reprimanded to the point where I had to take him to the parking lot to wander around while my husband ate his birthday dinner. Normally I would understand, but it seemed like, considering the casual family-style environment, they were overly restrictive. I don't think I'll bring my kid back there, even though it seems like the perfect place to bring him. And I don't think I'll come back without him because it's not the type of place my husband and I would have a date.

The best pizza I've had in my 17 years as a Los Angelino. I'd heartily recommend the pepperoni/mushroom. Good stuff!

Randomly stopped in the other day on our way out of town. At first we were a little weary because we were the only two in the restaurant- but it was around 4 on a Thursday... We ordered a large pizza with two toppings and an order of angel hair pasta with a meatball. We both thought the pizza was great- loved that it was actually topped with real cheese and the crust had that great fresh from the oven crispness. As for the pasta... I LOVED it! The meatball was so good and homemade- definitely beat my expectations! The only complaint was that the server/manager wouldn't let us do half pepperoni/half mushroom- he said that counted as two toppings :-(

Delicious Italian!!! I lived in Germany for 2 years where they have some of the best Italian food and I hadn't had Italian food in America in years that made me say, "Mmmmm." The place is small, only one server and wasn't busy but we were also there quite late and on a Monday. My friends and I got free Bruschetta for checking into yelp before ordering and it was yummy. For my entree I ordered the Pasta Rossa which was suggested by our charming waiter Chris. This was some of the best pasta I'd ever had. My friends ordered the Pasta with Clams and the Eggplant Parmesan. Both were thoroughly satisfied with their meals but I have to say the Pasta Rossa was amazing. We also ordered the homemade Cannoli for dessert because I had never had one...I wasn't impressed but I'm a sucker for sweet stuff so anything taste good really haha. I highly suggest this place and the Pasta Rossa. I've been craving it since I had it!

Okay, we really WANTED to like this place. First impressions were good, love the decor and the location is great. We tried the gluten-free pizza, but were not told that for a smaller-than-medium size pizza it would cost $2.00 more than a large pizza! We didn't find this out until we got the bill. :( We ordered a house salad and were disappointed with the "homemade" Italian dressing- tasted more like Wishbone. We also had the gnocchi and the lasagna and both were average at best. I agree with another reviewer- wayyyyy too much marinara sauce. I am Italian as well, and can really appreciate good quality Italian food. The sauce itself was a bit strong and tasted like it hadn't been stewing long enough to let the flavors mesh. Same with the lasagna, I've had so much better! The prices for the gnocchi and lasagna were fair- if the entrees were good. The price for the gluten-free pizza (as small as it was) was definitely too high! And the price for the large salad considering what you got, was too high as well. We would not recommend and will not return.

After many months of searching for an amazing pizza place and reading Yelp reviews we finally decided to try Antonio's. We walked in to the restaurant at approximately 5:30 pm on Sunday, August 28th. Not a sole was there. We were the only customers. We told the server it was our first time there and he gladly gave us some recommendations. The server was a bubbly, pleasant young man that was very happy with his job. We ordered a Large Pizza with Pepporoni and Sausage. The price ... only $15.30!! It was incredible! The cheese tasted real and fresh, the sauce was good, the pepporoni was delicious and the sausage had a wonderful, slightly spicy flavor. Not too many toppings, not too few. Just one complaint ... the crust on the bottom, the part they put the toppings on, is wafer thin ... don't get me wrong, I normally eat thin crust pizza, but this was maybe a little too thin. That won't stop us from going back again and again. I can look at the positive side of this ... less carbs! As we were leaving about an hour and a half later, more people were filling up the restaurant. The decor makes this place very comfortable. Can't wait to go back! :)

My daughter and I stopped in for dinner at Antonio's Pizzeria and walked out feeling ripped off for a good time and a good meal. The place does have the feel of Old Italy but the food was way below average. I ordered lasagna with a side salad and my daughter ordered egg plant with a side of garlic bread. Sounds pretty basic right? Well... my lasagna was very average with their meat sauce but the on the egg plant the marinara sauce was really bad and almost their entire menu includes this marinara on all of the items. My daughter who usually eats pretty good, ate 2 bites and slid her plate to the side. My side salad was the best thing brought to the table. The real kicker was the garlic bread... It was dry, had no flavor of garlic only tarragon. Who puts tarragon on garlic bread? Our waiter was a younger gentleman with a very dry personality. We won't be going to Antonio's again. Maybe you shouldn't either.

Found this place by accident. After driving down Ventura Blvd. trying to figure what to eat, I happen to see this little restaurant with the famous boot shaped country all lit up. I figure I'd give it a try since it looked authentic. I parked right out front where the meters were, but luckily, it was already after 6pm. I later found out that they have parking in the back. I don't know how big it is though. Ok, on to the food. We walked in and I knew right away this place had potential. The crowd looked like they were regulars. It's not a fancy shmancy joint by all means. Empty wine bottles on the ceiling, red & white checkered table cloths and dim lighting. Kinda reminds of Bucca di Bepo. The staff was very friendly and courteous. Everything points to a great meal right? Wrong!!!! I ordered a regular pizza with mushrooms and sausage and the gf ordered the linguine with clams in white wine & garlic sauce. Sounds good right. When the pizza came out, it looked good and all of the ingredients looked fresh and homemade. Can't wait to sink my teeth into a slice. After taking my first bite, everything tasted great. Like an Italian pizza would taste, right?? After a couple of chews, I noticed the texture of the dough/crust was kinda weird. At first I couldn't figure it out, but then I remembered. The dough/crust tasted like frozen pizza from the frozen section. I was torn!!! The toppings was great, but the dough was not. Your better off just eating the toppings and leaving the crust. The linguine was so so. I've had better. I don't like the fact that the clams were chopped up into little pieces. I like my clams to be whole so that I can taste the clam and feel the texture. It was so chopped up that it kinda felt grainy. That's from all of the innards being exposed instead of it being kept whole. The sauce was kind of bland. I had to put alot of parm on it with salt & pepper. And I usually don't put parm on anything. All in all, the atmosphere has great potential and the food can too. Maybe it was an off night. Who knows. But for a Saturday, the place was pretty empty. Maybe this place is more of a lunch spot then dinner.

Excellent service, great food, large portions, VERY reasonable prices. What's not to like about this place? This place is my favorite restaurant. Classic Italian that's reminiscent of my Nanny's home cooking. The place looks a bit old...or rustic and a bit cheesy with the red and white checked table cloth but hey, you're there to eat, not for the scenery. It's nice and quiet place. The only issue I have with the place is parking. There isn't any...well only 3-4 spaces in the rear. Good luck finding a metered spot on the weekend. Like everywhere in LA you can always valet.

We have been looking for a good pizza place in Sherman Oaks but are still on the hunt. We had a large mushroom and sausage pizza delivered and come to find out they only deliver if you have a order of $20 minimum which I guess I didn't notice on the online menu. But good to know. So we scrambled at the last minute to come up with something else to order. So we also got the small antipasto salad. And BTW I think the prices online are not the same as the true prices. We seemed to pay more than expected. The pizza was SOGGY! I couldn't believe how wet the pizza was. It tasted okay but it felt like it had been sitting in liquid or something. Maybe there were too many toppings or the fact it had been delivered but was highly disappointed with that. Then our salad. It looked okay. The dressing was flavorless, and I have to say the salami on top was awful. I love salami but had to spit this piece out and take a bite of bread to recover from the taste. Don't eat the salami at all - oh so gross now just thinking about it. Well I'm still looking for another place and have a feeling the leftovers of the pizza won't get touched and will get thrown out.

This restaurant left a sour taste in my mouth - literally! Not only did they serve sour orange juice, the minute we walked in, the owner, or the manager lady called out the waitress' name three times. She didn't acknowledge us but was calling after the waitress to seat us. The owner/manager was holding a meeting with a vendor in the middle of the restaurant. The restaurant has no ambient music and the owner/manager's voice carries throughout the whole restaurant. They served my fiance a water with a noodle in it and served me sour orange juice - man was it gross! The manager lady did not even apologize or ask to compensate us in any way. We ordered the antipasto salad and Antonio's pizza, which were both decent. The pizza was extremely heavy. The waitress was really kind, but the manager lady was very boorish and arrogant. We had a restaurant.com certificate where we had to spend $35. We had spent that amount, but due to the orange juice incident, our total was brought down to $33. At this point, we didn't want to order any more, but they made us to get to the $35 balance, even though we said just charge us $35, we don't want to order anything else The waitress said the owner/manager lady said that is against the law (what?)) and then encouraged us to order the peach cobbler, which was $4 or $4.95, she didn't know, and she said it was good. Well, it wasn't good, it was $6 and it was like oatmeal, peaches and some vanilla ice cream. By the way, we asked for our salad to be chopped and they charged $1 for it and didn't tell us. We found out when we got our bill, as we thought we were overcharged for our salad and the waitress said, "oh, we charge $1 for us to chop the salad." At that point, we could wait to get out of there. The lady manager nor the male manager smile and have very poor customer service and charge you tip on the tax - who does that? I feel sorry for all the people that get ripped off by the poor tip/tax skills. Also, there was a customer standing in the kitchen area, which is exposed to everyone and the manager lady said you can't stand here. It doesn't make sense, why have an open kitchen if you can't look at see what the cooks are doing? The restaurant was empty when we were there and now we know why. We will never visit this restaurant again and will tell others the same.

I love this place. Came here a lot with my family when I was a child. Everything is excellent, and the rolls are amazing. I lived in NYC and now in Boston, and have had nothing as good as this except in Italy. I think it has been here since the 50's or 60's. Viva Antonio's.

Being a sucker for old neon, I had to take a look. I was expecting an old steak/chophouse with Italian food as an afterthought. Which I love if the atmosphere is authentic (Original Joe's or John's Grill of San Francisco, or The Smokehouse or Musso's or Micelli's here in LA) Antonio's, however is an old Italian restaurant, period. No experimental organic artisinal fusion slow-food reduction sauce pretense, just amazing comfort food. However, everything aside from the pasta is apparently made in-house. I split a pizza and pasta with the ladyfriend and it was amazing. The server gave us nearly a dozen entree suggestions, not just the usual soup/appetizer/poultry/seafood/most expensive bullshit rote material found at most establishments. In other words, he seemed genuinely interested in telling us what was good, not what he had been commanded to sell that day. I would normally detract 10-20 stars for not having a full bar, but this place has so much else going for it, I didn't even notice, which, considering my raging alcoholism, speaks volumes. The only reason I can think that this place has so few reviews is that the patrons either don't want anyone to go here for fear of waiting for a table, or they're not yelpers (polite way of saying senior citizen) At any rate, go to this place!

Superb, fresh food in a casual, friendly atmosphere. Came with a gaggle of boys tonight. Gracing the table was the garbanzo bean cuke salad (crisp and light), a large bbq chix and a large cheese za. Rosa Pasta, Mostaciolli with red sauce and a meatball, Cheese Ravioli with pink sauce, and Angel Hair with clams. I can sum it all up with the fact that there was a good amount of "sort-of" silence at the table broken with tons of "Mmm's" and ""Boy is this GOOD!"'s. :)

I came here last night, during the night NFL game. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by everyone working (don't see that often) that was very nice. The owners are two wonderful professional people (not sure their names), but they seemed like husband and wife. I ordered pizza and pasta. Sucked down a bud light and watched the game while I waited. Upon getting my food I put extra Parmesan cheese on my pizza and pasta (lighting in the restaurant is low) still no excuse. The owner noticed I was pouring "sugar". Yes, sugar. LMFAO! I said, OMG damn! And started to walk out. She grabbed my food and said sit down we will do it over. I said no way, it was my fault. She insistent. I could not believe she did that. So nice of her. I get home and I must say, this was the best pizza I've ever had. No lie. I will be back and tell all my friends about this play. Thank you!

I've been 4 times now and really want to like the pizza. But the base is too doughy and despite Alex recommending that I order an extra thin crust, it was still too thick & doughy. I love pizza and have only recently moved into the Valley. I was very dissapointed, despite the glowing reviews and Alex's well intentioned assurances that this would become my regular "go to" place for good pizza. I tried and tried but now it is time to move on...

GLUTEN FREE PIZZA (they have gf noodles too & more- see full online menu!) DELIVERY - lunchtime Wednesday! 5 stars belongs to each of these: 1. the lady that answered the phone was RIGHT ON, about the delivery time (approx 35 mins. was quoted and that is about EXACTLY how long it took to receive-NICE WORK!) 2. this sauce is incredible!!!! 3. the cheese & pepperoni quality = amazing!!! 4. the spices they use, wooweee = yumm!!!! 5. the temperature of pizza when arrived - aweesome!! the rest as follows: * the gluten free crust = not great, i have had better & i have had worse (3 stars) * the salad ($4 caesar) - not good... a lot of the lettuce was wilted & some brown, dressing as if it had been made several weeks ago & put in a little cup, and refrigerated until i ordered a couple weeks later ((don't recommend)) * driver didn't bring little packets of parmesan cheese or crushed red peppers (huge bummer- sometimes people don't think to ask or they just assume its automatically included (1 star) * driver didnt bring plates or utensils, again - maybe i just assumed for togo orders that would be included & i should just make plans to ask next time (1 star) i bet their normal crust pizza is to die for, and their pasta too - hope sometime to give it a whirl! overall i would RECOMMEND you try this place ;)

The food quality never changed and neither did the service. Love you Antonios. You never disappoint!!!

My wife and I just had our first baby and some friends wanted to pick us up some to-go food since we hadn't been able to make it out much the first few days. We've lived in the Sherman Oaks area for 12 years now, but for some reason had never tried Antonio's. We remembered driving by about a month ago and seeing the Vegan and Gluten-free options sign out front (my wife is both) and decided to give it a try. We couldn't be happier that we did. The women who took my order was very nice and attentive and answered all my questions about what meal options would work for my wife. She got a vegan Eggplant Parmesan dish and loved it! Just had her leftovers for it last night and she said it was still fantastic. I was planning on getting a pizza, but when I saw the Gnocchi with Ricotta, I couldn't pass it up (I've been loving ricotta cheese recently). The gnocchi was light and soft, with delicious sauce. Would order it again in a heartbeat. Just writing the review and remembering the meal is making me want to order some food from Antonio's again. We have now found our go-to neighborhood Italian place.

It doesn't get much better than this. The pizza, the pasta, the garlic bread and the salads are all stellar. I particularly like the pizza with cheese that does not overwhelm nor is it fused to the pizza itself. The cheese on the pizza seems to lightly float on a bed of wonderful tasting tomato sauce. I'm one of those who likes to load up his pizza with toppings (sausage, onions, garlic, olives, basil, extra cheese, bell pepper and sometimes pepperoni). Antonio's accomplishes all of that but keeping the tastiness of the pizza itself through the use of a high quality crust. Their salads are top tier and I particularly like the chopped Italian salad with extra dressing. The staff is friendly with a lovely lady, Alex, seemingly at the helm of operations. I not only will return, I will return often.

I ordered a pizza from Antonio's using Eat24 tonight. It never showed up. I contacted Eat 24 after an hour and they were told that the pizza was on it's way. Despite the fact that they listed their delivery window as 30-45 min, I figured no biggie - maybe it was a busy night. 30 minutes later, still no pizza. I check my Eat24 account and it now says my pizza was delivered after 34 minutes. Interesting, as I have no pizza. After some investigation, it appears that the driver could not find my building (located a whopping .5 miles from the restaurant) and rather than call me, the restaurant simply marked my order as delivered and called it a night. Their pizza may be delicious, but I'll never know because I will definitely never attempt to order from them again. Thanks for leaving me high and dry (and hungry) on a Friday night, Antonio's!

old school italian spot with good service. feel transported. homey and comfortable. of course we got the pizza. toppings: sausage and garlic with extra cheese. it's a doughy pizza and not the hipster thin crust. it was tasty but i prefer a thin crust. if you like more crust - this is the spot! next time will have to try the pastas. please note that the pasta is not homemade but the sauces are. always up for supporting family businesses. more to come!

The pizza was great! I ordered a medium pineapple with extra cheese. I also ordered the Pasta Rosa, which was delicious. The sauce was great! especially when you eat it with the pizza bread. I also ordered the ravioli with meat sauce also delicious :) Make sure you go and check in so you can try the risotto balls, which were also very yummy. Lastly, I ordered the cannoli for dessert and guess what? that was good too! ooo and had a Coke with all of it, can't go wrong with Coke. The girl that was our server was great, very helpful and super nice. Everything was delicious, I will go back. Thank you!

What a bummer...I just moved to the area and had heard wonderful things about Antonio's, but my first order did not even remotely live up to the basics of standards. I had been craving a good old fashioned pizzeria pizza and some pasta which I ordered online. I got a simple pepperoni mushroom pizza and Antonio's garlic fried gnocchi. The order arrived quickly, but the moment I looked at the pizza, I knew it was going to be a disappointment. The photos on yelp versus the food quality that was delivered was night and day different. My pizza crust was one of those pre-fabricated crappy ones, which is worse than frozen pizza. The ingredients that I paid extra for didn't help the cause either. There was hardly any pepperoni, cheap quality gelatinous cheese, and mushrooms and olives with no flavor at all. My happy lunch time experience was definitely not fulfilled. The garlic fried gnocchi might as well have been made out of sauteed memory foam, because that was the weight and texture of their "house made" pasta. The only thing worth salvaging from my lunch order was the free Coke I got from ordering online...I ended up throwing away most of the food because it wasn't even remotely worth the calories of ingesting it. Where is the good Italian food at in this valley?! HELP!

Their menu is so overwhelming since there were so many choices, but makes me want to try the others next time if I ever come back to Catalina! I eventually went with the fish & chips since I haven't had them for a while. Besides, I'm by the ocean so why not add a little nautical flavor to my lunch? I see there's Yelp complaints about a lot of food being frozen, but it seems like a tough job to ship fresh produce to the island. My food never felt frozen, however; my fish & chips were soft, crunchy, and spiced very well. Outside seating is awesome on a warm, sunny day. You're by the ocean where you can people watch while you eat. I loved some of the restaurant decor as well; bonus points for the Marylin Monroe and Elvis Presley stuff!

Great pizza but unfortunately the people who run the place are exceptionally rude. I just called to order a pizza. They have delivered to my apartment many times. After being placed on hold several times I was put on the phone to the female owner/ manager. She told me they couldn't deliver to my apartment which I told her was bizarre as I ordered from there all the time. She was extremely rude in response so I told her I would never be ordering from her restaurant again. I've also been told by friends that the owners are rude and demeaning to their employees. Out of principle, please boycott this place with me. Also, notice the response that the restaurant will place after my review. They appear to scan their yelp page in order to mitigate the loss of business from the horrible way they treat people, by making it seem like negative posters are being unfair. I know you're reading this Antonio's! Be nicer!! Stop sucking as human beings!

My girlfriend and I come here all the time and it is always good. We order the pizza which has a light buttery crust with plenty of cheese and great sauce. I recommend the Three Olive pizza with alfredo sauce. The dining room is cozy and beautifully decorated. I don't know what the complaints about being rude and mistreating workers are. I have been coming here for more than 5 years and there is always the same people working. I haven't tried most of the other food but this is a great place to sit and relax and feast on a pizza!

We have been going to Antonio's for over 20 years. Consistently amazing food and service. Alex and Steve have become great friends to us and we will always go to Antonios for pizza, pasta and those amazing bread rolls!

The pizza is out of this world amazing; one of the best in La. However the rest of the food is not that great. I ordered a caesar that was very watery and a marinara pasta that was very bland. Service and pizza make this place worth the visit.

Pretty typical American-ized Italian food. Tried them on a yelp deal and was slightly disappointed. If I want good Pizza in the valley, for sit-down I go to Angelino's on Lankershim. For delivery I do Pizza Napoli on Burbank in Van Nuys. For pasta I like Pagliacci's on Moorpark or Mazzarino's on Riverside. The crust wasn't like a crust, it was more like bread. The sauce didn't taste any better than Ragu or Prego out of a jar. They must get a lot of traffic from their location on Ventura Blvd., because I just don't understand nor can I relate to all the five-star reviews.

I went to this restaurant 3 times about 20 years ago. They had these cheesy bread rolls that were really delicious, but the food was always mediocre at best. Jump ahead 20 years to tonight. We decided to try it again, and worst comes to worst, at least we could have some of the good cheesy-bread rolls. So the waiter takes our order and asks what kind of bread we want....he rattles off several different kinds really fast. I asked if they still had the rolls with the cheese inside and he said yes and dashes off to put our order in. He then brings us 2, hard and dry rolls, no cheese inside. They were nothing like what I wanted. He then brings our antipasto salad, which was really delicious. I got a little concerned thous when I examined a square of the mozzarella. It was actually a stack of cheese slices, kind of like the kind you buy already pre-sliced. I thought, surely they're not using a cheap pre-sliced mozzarella here. I ordered rigatoni ricotta, which sounded like baked mostaccioli. That's a dish I used to LOVE getting at Vitello's before the new owners ruined that restaurant. My partner ordered spaghetti and meatballs. I really hated mine. I knew the minute they placed it in front of me that they were indeed using the slices of mozzarella cheese as it looked like an evenly thin layer of white goo painted over the top of my pasta. When you tried to pick up some of the rigatoni, the cheese came with it in a big sheet. The sauce was really god awful. It was like they had taken a bitter marinara and mixed it with some ricotta cheese. It was really grainy and awful. I ate about 2/3 and left the rest. My partner's was okay, the sauce was not great and the meatballs had a bit of a bitter taste to them, but the texture was good. I got out my phone and read some yelp reviews while we were waiting for the check. Clearly people LOVE the pizza here and are giving them rave reviews based on that alone. IF I ever come back, I'll make sure to just get pizza. But there are better pizza places closer to my house, so it'll probably be a while before we ever come back here...if we ever do.

My boyfriend and I order pizza here every Friday night. It's our favorite pizza place we have ever been to. Order the Bianca pizza or David Rossa. We also celebrate birthdays there and have taken all of our friends and family. We love it.

What a great experience!! We've lived in Sherman Oaks for over 10 years and unfortunately had not had the pleasure of eating at Antonio's. While taking a walk on Ventura Blvd saw all the new restaurant's going up all over. Fortunately for us not many were open for lunch and one that we tried walking into was not very welcoming. And then we ended up inside Antonio's and we were welcomed with a big smile and hello by Alex! We just wanted s snack so we shared an order of meatballs and bread. They were amazing! Can't wait to go back for dinner!

Best minestrone soup in town! Great pizza and friendly service. This place is like something out of the 1960s, which makes it very cool.

I have to be at work in about 4 hours, but hey... if I can manage to make it through 2 plane trips with sinus congestion (painful), I can work through the fatigue. I had a salad here. Why? That's a damn good question. Why would anyone go to an Italian restaurant where they serve all sorts of lovely pasta dishes, and all kinds of varieties of fresh from the oven pizzas, and a number of pretty amazing looking desserts... and order a plate of lettuce? Why? I'll tell you why. It's because I hate myself, apparently. I mean, I don't feel like I hate myself, but I must. I can't think of any other reasonable explanation for why I forwent the cornucopia of delicious Italian delectables. For free, no less, because my rich roommate had decided to be generous that night. Why is any of that important? Because, even though I didn't really get to try and of it, I know Antonio's food is pretty good. It looked great, it smelled amazing, and the two men I was seated with at my table cleaned their plates. I had a little sampling of some pasta from the fiancé's meal, and it was probably the best part of my night. Also, one of my jerk dinner companions decided to get some incredible fruity beverage, and offer me a sip. A sip was all it took to make me hate him. Why would he show me how delicious something I couldn't have was? Clearly to torture me. Or to be nice. One of the two things, definitely. As for my salad... It was fine, but I feel like I would be embarrassing myself to go in to any great detail about it. You're not going here for their salad. Anyway, the service was awesome. The woman who seated us acted like my roommate was family, when I think he'd only been in there once or twice before. It's like how you expect to be treated at Olive Garden, because that's how they tell you there're going to treat you in their commercials, but then they don't. False advertising. One of these days, when I no longer have to plan to fit in a wedding dress, I will come back here, and I will eat two of everything. Like Noah's ark, but with food and with less animals... because I'll still be a vegetarian.

Cross between Italian and New York style pizza that's agreeably a little thicker in the dough, a little less greasy, and with plumper toppings. The large pie has big slices, two were good enough to fill me but I had three. They have their own specialty Italian and BBQ Chicken and Hawaiian pies, but I like my own creation: Meatballs, Tomatoes, Peppers. Inside the establishment is a clean brick and decorated trattoria. "Antonio's" has been around for 55 years, and is a significant signpost in my own life. Mom got pick-up here the night I was born (Dad told her to run in and get it, water broke soon after). 3.5 Stars. #bustabutton

Went back to Antonio's on Friday night after several months of wanting to go but not actually having schedules align to make the return visit....but Friday things lined up and we went to this magnificent shining example of the way an old school Italian restaurant should be run... From the moment we entered, the hostess was friendly, smiling and taking us to our table. Our server Jose then quickly appeared which is always a good thing as opposed to sitting and waiting for someone to notice you are there and waiting to order drinks which we have all experienced I'm sure...but you won't experience that here I'm glad to say, and Jose quickly brought out our drinks and we engaged in some light and easy conversation. He kept up the amazing service throughout... One of the owners, Alex, waved to us and said hello when we entered like she had recognized us from the one visit months before but whether she did or didn't, it made us feel instantly at ease, welcome and appreciated..... From the top down, this place shows the others how it's done and I would recommend owners of other Italian (or any other style of food) to visit Antonios to get some much needed tips on how not only to get people in the door, but then keep them coming back time and time again.... A meal at Antonio's is like going home to moms and sitting with your extended family eating the best homemade food possible......you just don't want to leave..... The spinach and artichoke dip was out of this world crazy good and the pizza is THE BEST in the Valley.......and the cannolis? Just simply to die for....All of their food is top notch and believe me there are tons and tons of Italian/pizza places scattered around Sherman Oaks, Studio City, Van Nuys and beyond but this place is at the apex of Italian restaurants...there is no need to go anywhere else once you have been here. The only place that I felt that has ever come close to being this amazing on all levels would be Conca D'Oro in my hometown of Orange but I now feel Antonio's has displaced Conca D'Oro as my favorite Italian Restaurant ever.... In summation, there are many, many great places to spend your money and get amazing food, but when you couple that with top flight service, a caring, attentive and friendly wait staff and the true old school ambiance that you love to experience for this type of dining, this is THE PLACE! Already making plans to go back...if I didn't have to be in the studio this coming Friday recording my band's debut CD I would already know where I was going to be that night...but like Ahnold famously stated in The Terminator, "I'll be bahck"...and I will... Thank you so much to all of the amazing people at Antonio's!!

I know I'm going to sound like a broken record but we had another party at Antonio's and it was amazing. I threw a surprise 60th birthday party for my hubby. Again, Alex made it happen. She is the best. We had about 50 people. There was pizzas, salads, meatballs, and PastaRosa and pasta. Our friends could not get over how delicious the food was, how wonderful we were all treated, and of course the quantity of food was overwhelming! I love throwing parties, and Alex has made it so easy I'm spoiled now. Thank you so much to the entire staff at Antonio's for making me look like a great hostess! You guys are the BEST!!!!!

This place is absolutely AMAZING! Two words...Pasta Rossa, Pasta Rossa, Pasta Rossa! It's so delicious it's literally mind blowing! Free risotto balls with check in are also so delicious! The gluten free pasta causes you to second guess if it is truly gluten free cause you really can't tell the difference! Also the marinara sauce is beyond good...great on any pasta. Boyfriend had the pizza and loves it! Chocolate windmill cake is killer! And gluten free to boot! Love this place like crazy! Plus...they are Dodger fans! Which in my book is ALWAYS a plus! Looking forward to watching some games there this coming season while eating their phenomenal food!

I hate writing bad reviews so I will start with the positive. Great and fast delivery. Now for the bad. Read so many good reviews about the food, now I'm wondering if people get paid to post them. Spent almost 40 on pizza and calamari. The pizza was like eating bread with sauce and toppings. Very bland. I prefer pizza crust a bit more crispy. The calamari was like eating breaded rubber. All in all very disappointing. Hate to toss food, but I'm not going to finish it.

I can't help but think of this place every so often. I'm always recommending it to friends and family. Their pizza was delicious. Authentic Italian! And their basil lemonade was divine! The servers were very warm and inviting. I'll definitely be visiting again when I'm in the area

By far, the best Italian restauranté in the area. Staff are super kind, quick, and meticulous. In all my time in LA, I have been to this restaurant most. Try the pasta and meatballs, the margarita pizza, and go there on your birthday. Whatever cake they served me was Devine.

Exceptionally rude when calling to order a pizza within their delivery area. Whomever the lady was that took my order was incompetent in every way except for being a thoroughly shitty human being in this particular case. However the food is, I have to say, this is an abhorrent way to run the customer service side of any business. This is my first ever yelp review, I went from passive to active in order to slate the incredible rudeness of the staff, I have been told this by several friends as well, so this corroboration for me served as motivation enough. One must never forget, it's nice to be important, but it's more important not to be an ignorant douchenozzle. Please Antonio's, sort yourselves out.

I liked the food. Parking can be messy. Service could be less grumpy. I liked the casual, family vibe of the place as a whole though.

I moved away 10 years ago but I can still say that they make a wicked good pep/bacon pizza! I just thought about their pizza because its lunch time and I remembered to write them a review. Dang good pizza, I miss you guys since I moved away a long time ago. By the way, when I am close by and on my way home I always try and get a pizza to go for when I get back to the house. That is how much I love your pep/bacon pizza.

Ordered from here last night. I'm a New York transplant, so hard to please on the pizza front. Ordered a pizza with mushrooms and olives, plus the Italian Salad with the house dressing. Delivery was very fast, no complaints there. As to the pizza, the sauce was nice, but the crust was too doughy, very little bite to it. And the salad, fresh, but nothing special, and there was nothing notable about the dressing. So . . . nothing specifically wrong, but rather eh, and so I won't be ordering from here again. Pizza and salad are essentially such simple things that I can't think of any reason why, if you're a chef, and you're making them and tasting them, you're not doing the easy things you need to do to make them delicious.

I work nearby. Love Alex. She's amazingly sweet! They are a family owned business I think. Always a good vibe when I come in. All of my coworkers order from here at least once a week. (recommend the pizza) They do a comedy show sometimes. Go check it out you wont be disappointed with great food and entertainment!

This is a quaint, cute little place to eat. Everything is made fresh to order, even the delicious Strawberry Basil lemonade. We started with the cheese bread and risotto balls which was served with fresh sauce. Then had the manicotti for lunch. There was one really strong flavor in the manicotti, might have been fennel, so I'd like to try something else next time. Everyone loved their food and service was fast and friendly. Definitely a place to return to. It's got a feeling of that one place you always return to and can count on. :)

Grew up in this area but have not been to Antonio's for a very long time for no particular reason... well, actually, Ventura Blvd. parking is always a turn-off so that's a primary reason. We went in rather late, around 8:30 on Sat., and found parking in their own lot behind restaurant. STILL love the casual interior and stained glass windows and of course THE SIGN above the building. It's an icon to those of us who have lived around here for many decades. We ordered a large 'everything on it' pizza and they weren't kidding -- packed with meats, et al. We loved it and two of us consumed the entire pizza. Anxious to go back soon and try another dish like lasagna or veal marsala or ??? Checked out the meals being served at nearby tables and everything looked great! Antonio's Pizzeria is a real blast from the past and we're glad to be back. Waitstaff was super pleasant and welcoming...

YUMMO!!! This place reminded me of how great pizza can be!! We went here only because a friend was working there and kept telling us to come by. Good move on our part to finally check it out! The Antonio pizza is everything!!! I can't remember every topping on it but don't need to remember more than the amazing bacon, sausage, mushrooms, and more bacon. The crust here is just perfect. Not too thick and not too thin. The feel of this place is very authentic italian. Cute, cozy spot! It's been too long since we've been.

Wow I'm so disappointed. Wanted to try this place for s long time and finally did. Food was so bad from the Caesar salad which if it could it would sue them for using the name Caesar salad. It was old chopped romain lettuce and that's it. The kids ravioli was so bland and bad that even my daughter couldn't eat it. The chicken nuggets are worse then the frozen ones you buy at the market. Processed meat that is an embarrassment to be called chicken nugget. My pasta was plain with a scoop of no flavored tomato sauce. The meat ball is still stuck in the 60's. Dry and bland seems like a bunch of high school kids in home economic class tried to make it. With all the options we have today in the culinary spectrum I'm not coming back to this place. Think twice before you go there if you like REAL Italian food.

All you need to know is this is the best pizza in LA, hands down. Probably the best pizza in all of California. They have a full menu but with their pizza being so good, I can never bring myself to try something else. Also the staff is really friendly and warm.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
